Will AI destroy humanity? The advent of an autonomous world

Photo of Will AI destroy humanity? The advent of an autonomous world

・The future isn't necessarily something we can let go of and be happy to say, “I'm thankful that the world is becoming more and more convenient,” and we can't afford to take it easy on things like “convenient and helpful.” This is because robots with highly autonomous AI in their brains can even become new intelligent creatures. We humans are now about to enter an era where we coexist with intelligent organisms with superior performance and potential for the first time in history (p7)

・The near future is a world where AI takes control of everything. Society and people are woven into a system that operates autonomously, and operates as if it were a single giant machine (p21), automation can be said to be a design of mechanical mechanisms, operation procedures, etc. based on natural science and engineering under a predetermined environment so that people do not have to give up their hands (p31)

・Computers don't need a day off, but they need cooling, so they use electricity. There is an estimate that computers currently consume 10% of the electricity produced around the world, and considering that humans use 20% of energy for the brain, it may be said that they have become on par with humans (p38)

・Toyota Motor Corporation declared that it will create a smart city in 2020, and the assumption is that it is faster to automate the entire city rather than popularizing autonomous driving in the existing society (p57)

・Automation is just a “world where it becomes as said” and “a world that occurs within human expectations,” but autonomy is a world with the possibility that “things will not be what people say,” and it is completely different because it is a “world where people may be controlled by tools” (p60)

・It is said that humans “became cruel and dangerous beings” because Homo sapiens were unable to erase memories of cowardice and hunger when they met middle men (p103) such parts cannot be easily replaced by computers (p104)

・Modern 3D printers are still like toys, but if accuracy is improved and multiple materials can be handled, they will become extremely large. If design data is obtained, you can obtain a customized one with a 3D printer at home or at a 3D printing center in the city. Building production lines, gathering people, packaging, retail, and delivery will all disappear. This also destroys the price of things (p163)

・What became a weapon for Homo sapiens, who have expanded their power as the only human race, was the “high language ability” that only they had, and since there was this, opinions were exchanged and preserved, leading to accumulation of learning (p185)

・Agriculture created the concept of time called the future; a hunter-gatherer lifestyle simply captures and consumes what is in the present. Agriculture is sowing seeds, growing, and harvesting at some point in the future. It introduced a new concept of time of anticipating the future and acting in a planned manner. If people live together, there is no need to cover all the daily necessities alone. The concepts of agglomeration, division of labor, exchange, money, and the future, and the shift to an agrarian lifestyle prepared everything that forms the backbone of modern society (p186)
