Su-san — About
A personal portal that combines records of piano, goshuin, eating, walking, and reading into one.
Yasuyoshi Suzuki. They are called “Su-san.”
Currently, I have finished my career as an office worker, and I am living while enjoying playing the piano, reading, playing tennis, traveling, visiting goshuin, eating and walking. Especially recently, playing street piano has become a major pleasure in life, and I visit various places to play the piano, walk around the land, visit shrines and temples, and eat delicious food. I value that kind of time
.This site “suu3.jp” is a place that combines my activities and records into one.
Looking back, I've always spent quite a bit of time on things I thought were “interesting,” and then recorded them.
In the 1990s and 30s, I lived a work-centered lifestyle. I spent a lot of time on research, business trips, meetings, presentations, preparation of materials, etc., and I put a lot of energy into testing my abilities and increasing what
I could do through my work.On the other hand, I also loved learning. From 1998 to 2001, I focused on learning such as acquiring qualifications. Apparently, it wasn't “I don't study because I'm busy,” but rather that I was a person
who found new assignments even when I was busy.In the 2000s, in addition to work and family, the world of hobbies expanded. One of them was tennis. It has been a major part of my life since around 2006, and in 2011 I spent 277 hours a year playing tennis. It's one of my important hobbies that I continue to do today.
Also, “learning” has always been at the root of my life.
Reading time was 775 hours in 2011, and 892 hours in 2012. In 2013, I spent 453 hours in Chinese alone. English has also been going on for a long time. Read books, learn foreign languages, and learn about worlds you never knew existed. Before I knew it, learning itself had become a part of my life, not just for getting a qualification
.From 2013 onwards, there will be a further increase in outward activities. Records of eating and walking have begun, and the number of people walking around the city and visiting travel destinations has increased. If you visit a shrine or temple, you will receive a goshuin, and if you come across a delicious restaurant, it will be recorded. In addition to getting to know the world through books, I think my interest in “actually going to that place, seeing it with my own eyes, and experiencing it for myself” spread. Then, a piano was added to that
.The piano was 17 hours per year in 2014, and 609 hours in 2025.
Nowadays, people often visit various places for the purpose of playing street pianos. However, if you think about it, street
pianos are also something that connects my activities that I had enjoyed separately until then.I play the piano. Walking around the city. Take a train and travel. Visit shrines and temples and get a goshuin. Eat delicious food from that region. And when I get back, I'll
keep a record of that. The “piano,” “goshuin,” “eating and walking,” and “reading” on this site, which seems scattered at first glance, are all connected to me.
Looking back on my records in units of 15 or 30 years, the way I use my time has changed little by little.
When you're young, you “work.” and “learn.” Eventually, “go outside and experience it.” Now, “express” has been added to that.
However, I didn't throw away the old one and move on to the new one. I'm also spending 480 hours reading in 2025. I'm continuing to play tennis and learn languages.
In my case, instead of stopping one thing and moving on, I add new things one by one while leaving what I had built up until then. Maybe that's my way
of life. And there's one more thing I've been doing since time immemorial.
It's “recording.”
I've been keeping a continuous diary for about 30 years since the 1990s. Also, since 2011, I have recorded how many hours I spent on things such as reading, language studies, tennis, piano, etc
. Theyears-long record is nothing more than a memo at the time. However, when it is added up over 15 or 30 years, it becomes a material that objectively projects “what I have spent my
time living for.”Now, we have come across a new technology called generative AI, and we are now able to analyze records that have been accumulated over many years.
AI can aggregate and analyze 30 years' worth of diaries in a short time. But AI can't keep writing a diary for 30 years. This is something I feel strongly about right now that we are in the AI era
.Since it is an age where AI can finish work in seconds, what is the time created there used for?
What are we going to learn? Who are you going to meet? Where are you going? What are you going to make? And what are we going to leave behind. I think that person himself will show up there
.The purpose of this “suu3.jp” is also not to be completed.
From now on, if you play the piano, your records will increase; if you travel, new places will be added to the map; if you read books, new words will remain; and your encounters with people and stores will increase.
So to speak, this site itself is a “record of my life” that will continue to be updated from now on.
If I had to describe my future life in one word, I would learn, walk, meet people, play the piano, and record “a life where I leave what I've learned in sound and words.”
I would like to continue to enjoy and accumulate such everyday life.
